A man of the people - Chinua Achebe

October 9, 2008

I read this book last week, and I hated it. Few books have I hated as much as I hated (and I mean kill-and-burn hatred) this book, because it struck quite a few nerves at the completely wrong time. It's a good book, for that. Read if you're sensitive to the African way of life, you'll feel the most pain.

Chinua achebe, this name is so familiar but i couldn't remember where i came across him. i goggled up and found it! A telephone Conversation we had this poem in 1st year degree and I remember preaching to everyone just before the exam the meaning of this poem and la la la, i scored a 90 on english paper and my english lecturer said as a matter of regret that computer science was not for me. my proudest moment in degree :)

Oh yeah, I remember that poem, we had it in semester III English, it was damn good. Wole Soyinka is supposed to be a big influence on Achebe.

Wow, 90%, super. Perhaps you could put that talent for finding inner meaning into looking at obfuscated code snippets written by someone who's learning on the job. I just left a place where someone is going to take on a job like that.
