On the road to my alma mater, just past the level crossing, the road is split up into three lanes, and what was once the lane for motorists on one side becomes the bus terminus lane. The other two work like a normal road. I know this! Yet, it completely didn't register when I was coming back and I drove on what turned out to be the wrong side of the road. Seeing me go there, a whole other bunch of people did exactly that. Ta-dah! We jammed the oncoming traffic and had to wait till we could shift back into our own lanes. I apologized to the lorry driver I was looking right at - nice chap, he gave me a sympathetic wave. But they still had to redirect traffic back down the bus terminus lane.
I was partly misled by the fact that quite a few two-wheelers were going in that direction in that lane - It just didn't register that they do that everywhere and that they could just merge back into the right lane.
This is even funnier because the last time I was going to college, someone else had done just this and I'd laughed my head off at them. Carma :P
