False Alarm

February 22, 2009

When the internet connectivity seemed a little slow, the first thing I checked was the list of MAC addresses connected to my router. There was one there that I didn't recognise¹ and I immediately set up blocking and switching from WEP to WPA2. The truth? It was a false alarm, I'd completely forgotten that I had a desktop in my room in addition to my laptop. I've turned into the sad little nerd whose only excitement comes from the possibility of being engaged in a wireless encryption war :'(

¹ Yes, recognise. Go ahead, laugh.

It was actually I who had hacked into the Airtel servers and edited your account to throttle your bandwidth discreetly.

Also, your connection is now optimised for Hello Kitty Online.

You bastard. I got bandwidth throttled. Maybe I should upgrade to 512kbps.
