I cannot understand how an inability to access a computer that has poor connectivity can jam the whole shell. Nothing responds. I'll never open the 'Network' window again with Windows. It's simply not safe. Pathetic software. What is so important about getting a response from that computer that you have to stop everything else from functioning, huh?! GOD!
EDIT: 5 minutes later. On Ubuntu. Not a single complaint. Not only did the computer respond, but nothing jammed.
Ubuntu connected to a Windows XP desktop better than Windows Vista did. Wow, just wow.

Just a few days ago you claimed Vista was good. I laughed then. I laugh now.
I like bits of Vista. UAC is nice, and the whole separation of Data and Programs thing is pretty good too. I don't ever go outside my C:/Users/George/ directory and that feels good. Now if they could only get application settings right too. Windows Update works better. The interface that displays 'threats to your system' is done nicer. The eye-candy is nice. All of this is no match for my Ubuntu system, of course, but it's nicer to use than XP. Except for shit like this.
vista is and always will be the biggest mistake in world history, apart from wars and mass murder and social and political injustice, poverty, emo-culture etc. etc.
vista = rubbish.
Well, I wouldn't go _that_ far...
take it with a pinch of irony m'dear!
Yes, I suppose I should have. I mean you can't exactly blame it for emo-culture. That would be unfair.
