Antisocial Phone Users (APU)

When my phone screen died, I thought things were bad. But a few weeks on, I think I'm doing okay. The messages come, but I have a bulletproof excuse to not read them. Of course there's the danger of missing important ones, but hey, what's life without a little missing-out?

See, the thing with text messages is that there's this immediacy about them, they demand your attention, but yet they are usually frivolous. Email isn't like that. It comes when it does, but you don't have to pay attention to it, and unless it is urgent nothing necessitates a reply immediately. I like email.

Also, the reason I formed the acronym APU is to bring attention to this trend that Marc pointed out to me. Everyone is making up stuff like this to make things look more 'professional'. The Airtel Fair Usage Policy (FUP), for instance. Go fup yourself!

I linked this video because I like the way he says 'multidimensional engagement'.

If you cannot leverage technology to increase your productivity all you have to do is work with the existing synergy between your devices and scale down your user experience accordingly.
